Rachel Vogeleisen's artistry is celebrated for her unique style that exudes sophistication and freedom, making each of her works a true collector's item. This print is created with the utmost concern for quality. 'Celebrating my Vulnerability' is not just art; it's an invitation to appreciate the human form in its most honest and vulnerable state.

The message behind the artwork

Celebrating vulnerability is something that can feel challenging or uncomfortable, yet it is a narrative that we must embrace if we are to look after ourselves and those around us. In a world that tells us to "toughen up", celebrating our vulnerability can seem paradoxical, yet vulnerability can be an incredible source of strength.

In her  book, Daring Greatly, researcher and author Brene Brown defines vulnerability as "the emotion that we experience during times of uncertainty, risk, and emotional exposure". She argues that, rather than something to be feared, it can be a source of courage, ambition, and passion. As Brene puts it, "Vulnerability is the birthplace of innovation, creativity, and change".

While it may seem easier to avoid vulnerability, doing so can devastate our health and wellbeing, creating a sense of isolation and disconnection from one another. We must make space for vulnerability if we're to live full and meaningful lives.

Celebrating our vulnerability is something we owe to ourselves and to each other, a way of daring to be vulnerable, of daring to be seen. It's often in those moments of vulnerability, when we open our hearts to our peers, that we will find the greatest sense of connection and comfort.

Celebrating our vulnerability can help us create stronger, more meaningful relationships and help us to heal from the pain of our experiences. We must all learn to embrace vulnerability, to lean into it, and to celebrate our strength in times of vulnerability. Only then can we take a step towards understanding, empathy, and connection.

How do I care for my print?

  • Don’t hang your print in direct sunlight.
  • Prints can dent easily when handled, especially larger size prints, so take it directly to the framer.
  • Use only archive grade tapes and glues for mounting & framing.
  • Handle your print as little as possible and with care. Ideally wear special gloves.
  • Prints sent in tubes should be taken out and framed as soon as possible.
  • Avoid touching the print surface
  • Don’t store prints in humid or damp places.
  • Never allow liquids of any kind to come in contact with a print.
  • Only acid-free, archival materials should come in contact with the front/back of the print
  • Never allow prints to rub against one another in transit or storage. Always use archival plastic sleeves or acid-free tissue paper between prints
  • Use acid-free matt boards and UV glass or plexiglass for longevity. Framing under glass or acrylic provides the greatest protection against UV-induced fading.
