This art piece is based on my interpretation of Sleeping Beauty. I imagined her as a free spirit who doesn't want to be locked up in a golden cage forever. She sits in an abandoned derelict swimming pool, dreaming about her future.
The Message Behind the Artwork
Sleeping Beauty in this artwork has come to represent the resilience and ambition of the modern woman. All too often, sleeping beauty is relegated to a golden cage or kept artificially asleep by society's expectations without the chance to explore the fullness of their potential. This art piece is a passionate, sometimes controversial, interpretation of this iconic fairy tale. It follows the story of a young woman, gleaming with independence in an abandoned swimming pool. To many, it symbolises her struggle to break free from the cage she’s been assigned, a reminder of the strength and courage required for real liberation. Instead of Sleeping Beauty’s story ending on a note of false compliance, this reimagining transcends those cultural expectations and encourages us to dream wildly and think outside of the box. It’s a revolutionary, empowering vision of what it looks like when women embrace their ambitions and take control of their lives.

As every print is made-to-order to your chosen specifications, we are unable to accept any returns or exchanges. In the unlikely event that your order arrives damaged, please message us with photos of the print/frame and packaging within five days of delivery and we can assist with a free replacement. Please note, we cannot guarantee a free replacement should you report damage outside of this timeframe or do not supply the required photos.

How do I care for my print?
- Don’t hang your print in direct sunlight.
- Prints can dent easily when handled, especially larger size prints, so take it directly to the framer.
- Use only archive grade tapes and glues for mounting & framing.
- Handle your print as little as possible and with care. Ideally wear special gloves.
- Prints sent in tubes should be taken out and framed as soon as possible.
- Avoid touching the print surface
- Don’t store prints in humid or damp places.
- Never allow liquids of any kind to come in contact with a print.
- Only acid-free, archival materials should come in contact with the front/back of the print
- Never allow prints to rub against one another in transit or storage. Always use archival plastic sleeves or acid-free tissue paper between prints
- Use acid-free matt boards and UV glass or plexiglass for longevity. Framing under glass or acrylic provides the greatest protection against UV-induced fading.

All products are made-to-order. Please allow 3-5 days for us to prepare your order and up to 15 business days for delivery. Your order will be shipped from one of our printing partners across the world, depending on your location.
