In this Regency-inspired giclée art print, the Pretend Ingenue looks away quite defiantly. Her figure is silhouetted against a rich painted background with a design reminiscent of 18th-Century wallpaper, making a luxurious addition to any room in the house.

This project is part of the Quiet Rebellion. This project aims to give a voice to women who didn't have one throughout history, connecting the dots and inviting them in a scene that reflects their oppression and the ways they had to learn to rebel "quietly" from the place that society gave them, accepting their lot, feeling under pressure to conform. Their only form of escapism was to rebel inside, moving things slowly like a butterfly's wings, creating a snowballing effect across history. This project reflects the story of all these women who could not use their voices. I’ve found my inner self deeply resonating with the paintings of Artemisia Gentileschi, not that I've endured similar oppression. Still, since childhood, this desire to be a free and independent woman was always rooted in me. My idea with this project is to continue to rustle feathers, building up the quiet rebellion and bringing out that powerful voice that I have tamed for so long!

Refund and Returns

As every print is made-to-order to your chosen specifications, we are unable to accept any returns or exchanges. In the unlikely event that your order arrives damaged, please message us with photos of the print/frame and packaging within five days of delivery and we can assist with a free replacement. Please note, we cannot guarantee a free replacement should you report damage outside of this timeframe or do not supply the required photos.

How do I care for my print?

  • Don’t hang your print in direct sunlight.
  • Prints can dent easily when handled, especially larger size prints, so take it directly to the framer.
  • Use only archive grade tapes and glues for mounting & framing.
  • Handle your print as little as possible and with care. Ideally wear special gloves.
  • Prints sent in tubes should be taken out and framed as soon as possible.
  • Avoid touching the print surface
  • Don’t store prints in humid or damp places.
  • Never allow liquids of any kind to come in contact with a print.
  • Only acid-free, archival materials should come in contact with the front/back of the print
  • Never allow prints to rub against one another in transit or storage. Always use archival plastic sleeves or acid-free tissue paper between prints
  • Use acid-free matt boards and UV glass or plexiglass for longevity. Framing under glass or acrylic provides the greatest protection against UV-induced fading.
